There are some exhibition rooms for Permanent and Periodic Exhibitions. The Permanent Exhibitions show the history of Japanese ceramics ranging from Jomon earthenware to the contemporary ceramics, the collection of overseas ceramics and that of contemporary ceramic art works, and introduce ceramics and shards from old kilns all across the country.The Periodic Exhibitions are to be held on various themes.There are also Auditorium, Video Corner, Briefing room, Library holding around 17,000 books and a restaurant.

The present and the perspective of the industrial ceramics are shown through the exhibition of the new products and fine ceramic objects in the ordinary lives.

The ceramic Lion-Dogs (Aichi Prefectural Ethnocultural Asset), which were dedicated to shrines to make wishes, are on display around 100 in number.

You can enjoy making pottery or buisque-painting in this studio any time, and experience the warm touch of clay and fun to make your own work yourself.Beginners can enjoy themselves with the guidance of instructors.

The Tea House 'Tosui-an'

“Tosui-an” is a tea house located in the Museum ground abundant in greenery, where you can enjoy one of the Japanese classic arts in the calm and quiet atmosphere.Here you can easily enjoy ‘match (powered green tea)’ with Japanese sweets at the table-and-chair seat in a restful room.The tea rooms of eight mats and of four-and-a half mats are available for tea gathering.

The tea bowls used here are the works of pottery artists in Seto, Mino and Tokoname, among which you can select your favorite one to drink from.Each month the tea bowls are changed, since the works of the artists whose birthday is in that month are to be used.

Gallery (Special Exhibition Room)

The Special exhibition Room is available to the citizens as a gallery for rent.The room provides the proper facilities such as display cases and lightening equipment and is available for an individual or group show.

The whole space of the gallery is available with the charge of 11,300 yen per a day, or a half of the space, with the charge of 5,600 yen per a day.

[Restaurant 'Touji']
A variety of dishes of Western, Chinese and Japanese style are available.(Prices range from 500 yen to 3,000 yen.)
For a group use, reservation is required.
Open from 9:30 to thirty minutes before the closing time of the museum.
